I watched the Bachelor the season before this one, and I knew Aaron made one hell of a mistake. He should've chosen brooke. Low and behold, two months later, he and his wife are all over the place with their divorce.
I watched like one episode of the season with Firestone and I called it right there which one he should've picked. Turns out he picked the other one and now they're getting divorced too. Someone really needs to hit these guys over the head.

I downloaded it a while ago and i definately enjoy it for its functionality with the new office. It works really well and its really really easy to use. Theres one thing i'd like though, i'm subscribed to a lot of feeds that run stories from the Associated Press and I wish that it would scan through and make sure i'm not downloading hte same story four times. Its not that big of a deal so if you're considering buying it, relax - its not a deal breaker - but it would be nice. News Gator

The people that I live with have a unique way of making things difficult. About a week ago my father noticed that my car was getting sunspots on it and told my mother. She pointed it out to me and told me it needed to be washed and waxed. Which, really, wouldn't have been a problem except that really...its monsoon season. So I, being the efficient cookie I am said. "Hey, why don't you ask dad if he'd mind running it through the carwash down the block because wouldn't that be just as effective?" Well it would, and he agreed. And now, a week later, it still not done and he has now abdicated any responsibility for it because he broke the car that he's got parked in front of it and there is no fucking way for me to get it out of the driveway even if i wanted to drive it, let alone drive it to the car wash. So now, in the middle of monsoon season, i either have to spend an hour and a half washing and waxing a car in my driveway, or let the paint get destroyed. Fuckers... this is really a growing trend around here...second thing in to two days that someone agreed to and won't do.

I just changed my desktop background and i'm looking to change my messenger backgrounds etc for a more delicate less clunky theme...and i was thinking two things: 1) I want a more delicate Windows. I dont want a big ol' ugly green start button. I want more streamlining options and the opportunity to thin things out more on my screen...thats my theory...And, i want a more delicate whispy blogger template but thats never gonna happen unless i do it myself and that would SUCK MAJORLY so yes..they should get all over that..DO YOU HEAR THAT GOOGLE? I WANT MORE DELICATE TEMPLATES AND LESS CLUNKY STUFF...AND NO MORE DORKY TEMPLATES THAT ALL LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME...not that anyone is listening, but hey, i'll always be willing to throw in my two cents :P in fact, most of hte time you can't stop me.

Addendum
I don't remember if I mentioned this in my post about SJ so I'll mention it now. On Thursday at 10am in the Siebert Chapel at Carthage College a Memorial Service will be held and is open to the public.
Personally, I wouldn't advise trying to park there. Park somewhere else, I promise. The Chapel probably only seats about 1,500 people and with the Johnson employees and everyone who doesn't work for him but who's life was touched by his, there won't be room to move.
Also, as I recall, the family has asked that instead of flowers, a charitable donation be made to The Prairie School. Its a great school and their donors are the only way for more than 42% of the students attending to be given said opportunity. Of all of the schools I've ever attended I'd say I probably learned the most there. They have a great teaching staff all the way from Early School with the three year olds, right on through. Still can't spell...But that's not their fault...I digress, anyway..I thought I'd just pass that along.

I'm slowly recouping the losses to my Links table...Check it out, King has a blog again - which is sure to be a total disaster of epic proportions - so he's down there now too :) yay...In order of appearance and all that jazz :P I just need one more friend and i'll feel not unloved...any takers? Who Wants To Buy A Laptop
So, I got my motherboard replaced today because the ethernet port was dead, right. I used it for a little while before I left and then on my happy way I went. When i came home the computer was shut down, but i figured my mother did it. So anyways, I didn't think anything of it and booted it up...then, suddently...my computer takes a big dump and just disappears. The screen went black and the system just vanished...It was not pretty...When I flipped it over I found out why, the thing was hotter than its ever been before. Let it cool, boot it back up to see if maybe it was a one time thing...OH FUCK NO. 20 minutes later it does it again, now i'm back on it trying to get ahold of some one from dell to SCREAM AT THOSE FUCKERS because i payed for a computer that WORKS!!!! and now its quite NOT. GAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *mind you, i virus scanned and ran Windows Update. I'm not stupid*
A Tribute...Until About The Middle And Then It Sort Of Trails Off
Sam Johnson died today. Well, yesterday as it were, being that its 12:15.
While I realize that doesn't seem like something that should be of much importance to me, it really is. My parents worked for him when I was a kid, and when we'd plow the driveway at his house his wife always invited me in and gave me nutterbutters...she’s a nice lady. And then, I ended up at Prairie and he was always in and out. Some days he'd come and just sit in on our assembly’s and talk to us; like he really was interested in what we had to say and just enjoyed being there.
He belongs to a sort of person you don't see so much anymore. He was really an all around nice person. He worked hard in his life, built a successful business, took care of the community he lived in, supported the things in which he believed, and still had time to be interested enough in a bunch of teenagers to learn our names. People like that are getting rarer and rarer every day as they age and die. I miss the old fashioned. While, as everything, it had its failings, those ways have a lot more to be said for them then the way we're running things now. What can I say, he reminds me of a time when people respected their elders and knew the value of a hard days work.
To me and of what I knew of him, he always was what you wanted a person to be. Judging by his children, the man had his shortcomings because most of them are lazy SOBS who wouldn't know a hard days work if it bit them in the ass, but that's just the point. Today kids are raised under the impression that things are owed to them because their rich/poor, fat/skinny, ugly/pretty, stupid/smart, unemployed/employed, black/white/asian/native american/hispanic..., left-handed/right-handed...you get my drift. Half of the population of the United States has been involved in some frivolous lawsuit, be it over a neighbor who's dog dug up their petunias, or a fast food company for their high-fat content products. What i do know is that we've got boys (for the sake of political correctness) and girls scattered all over the globe fighting a war because - ultimately - we have the money and nobody else is quite comfortable with that - and because we elected an overgrown 15 year old boy. We have a new age parenting technique, more prominent that I’d like, producing children who honestly believe that they are owed a college education, a car, health insurance, an apartment with high-speed internet and cable tv, for whatever their woe-filled condition happens to be. My 11 year old brother thinks its acceptable to tell his mother that she's not worthy to talk to him. Two of my cousins are being raised by their respective grandparents because their parents are incapable. Because we've lost sight of the concepts of accountability and commitment. Because people are getting married and living for SUVs, sprawling back yards, $5 cups of coffee, and designer everything and when the dream world comes crashing down they run for the hills and start fighting over things in court. Half of America's CEO's are under investigation because it's such a scramble for money and the best that we've forgotten morality, ethics, and ultimately dignity. And partially, because things like insider trading are illegal. I'm just saying, if i got a hot tip on stock, my ass is out and I don't care if it is my own stock. There's nothing wrong wtih self-preservation as long as it doesn't involve screwing anyone else. I may hate Martha Stewart, but her stock wouldn't have gone up had she not sold her shares, I don’t think there is anything wrong with not going down with the ship. I know that people get so caught up in the fight they forget the issues and end up losing the battle. My mother, a lesbian, is emphatic on gay marriage. While i agree that gay couples should be permitted some form of binding contract allowing them access to one another’s health and death benefits, DNR, wills, child-support, and tax increases, it will never be a marriage because that is an oxymoron. If they approached Congress asking for health and death benefits it would be a different battle, and a much easier one at that. But instead, they storm the capital demanding the legal right to partake in what is truly a religious institution. (Don't get me started on the separation of church and state violation marriage is.)
I really do worry about the future of this country, and as such the rest of the world. We seem to be filling up with Hairdressers, Telephone washers, and Receptionists (I think that was the grouping Adams used…)
Respect your elders. They’ve seen more than you can imagine. Their stories and advice are the only things that they have to offer you that are of any real value and they’re the only thing you’ll have left after they’ve gone. Realize that you get only one chance, but live it in a way that you won’t have to apologize for later. Never ask permission or apologize for doing something you believe in. Understand that the good things in life – the things you should be most proud of – aren’t tangible; they’re the things that can only be seen by looking into a person’s eyes. Be patient with your friends, but hold firm to what you believe in. Don’t get so caught up in yesterday’s news that you forget what today is all about. Don’t expect anyone else to support you. There’s no point in being jealous. Know only that each person works for what they have, and those people who haven’t worked for the things they’ve received will never really live to appreciate it and that’s a form of half-life. Do the things that you enjoy. Never mind what everyone else thinks of them.
In short, this goes out to all of the people who are spending their weekend relaxing and enjoying with people that they love because they know on Monday morning they’ll be back to work at whatever they do, or school for whatever they’re studying, to give it everything they have.
As much as I complain about it, I’ll always have a place in my heart for Cherokee Red. Oh well, I’m rambling. We'll miss you SJ.

I've been putting titles on my posts for a year now, becuase its a good thing to do. It gives you the chance to decide whether or not to read it before you get into the whole post thing...or at least how i feel about the matter. And, it breaks up the page a little bit...makes things a bit more orderly. Come to find out, Blogger just jumped on the bandwagon...its about damn time guys.
This Is Cool
My computer is running faster, i'm connected wtih a real ethernet cable to my new cable modem, now running at full capacity. I think this is really pimp! Oh well, that's all. The dell guy was SUCH a dork. Like even dorkier than Mike and King combined. He had dorky hair and was dressed all dorky...but he was like a middle aged dork :P Thats okay though, cuz he fixed it. His inner jew seemed to be coming through really well in his appearance though, i think that may have made the dork more prominent.

Hey guys...guess what. I just got kick ass news. Mike, I think we're going to Navy Pier...even though I wont get to go on the Ferris Wheel. Anyways, I can go see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in IMAX - Cool huh?! I know, you're bored, but thats okay.

Okay and now i'm pissed off. I got tickets to go see Eyedea and Abilities at the 27th right, and now i just got this HORRIBLE news. Hason...remember them? yeah, for those of you who dont...mmmboppy mmmmboppy....*shudder* Eyedea is in the basement and Hanson is in the ballroom....how the FUCK are they gonna fill the ballroom. While i realize screaming teenage girls are aplenty - boy bands are out and they were never cool enough to fill a venue for more than a week. This is so totally gross. We SSOOOO have to get there early enough to avoid the masses, cuz i might knock out some little girl if she DARES to sing that song.

Right, so there are way too many tabs going on here...oh well...My Mp3 player works again...it works great in fact...I ran disk doctor and deleated all of the corrupted files, but then i noticed this funny thing...there are supposed to be 5.59 gigs of space right...and i've got no files on it...but only 4.87 gigs of available space...odd? I thought...And it won't let me reformat...this may be a job for the Mike tomorrow...or maybe i'll just go "Oh, well...that'll keep me busy until i can afford a new one" and let it go at that.

So Some Changes
Blogger made all sorts of changes and i'm playing with all of them on a limited and extremely trial basis. For instance, i've enabled comments. Whether or not i leave it there is another question but hey, we'll figure it out. Anyways.
A brief analysis. I hate the new publishing sceme. Where the old blogger view gave you your publishing screen above all of your old posts with a search function, in their full length or a shortened one, new blogger has a seperate tab for posting and editing...and the edited posts are viewed only by the first few words instead of the whole thing, or even the first paragraph, making it extremely difficult to perform any sort of a search or piggy back wtihout clicking 100 different links to figure out where you stashed that one post a month ago.
All in all, i'm kind of iffy on it, but we'll see. Maybe i wont't have to send them any hate mail - or maybe i will

Nicholas and I are having a heated debate over gun control.
